Spur Change’s latest report on Small and Medium Organizations (SMOs) is now available! This year’s report features 8 case studies and highlights the vital role of SMOs in the international cooperation sector as innovators, community-leaders, and more. The report also explores how organizations have been accessing capacity-building support and what meaningful support has meant to them over the past 5 years.
To celebrate our successes and share our learnings, Spur Change is organized a new series highlighting the impact of Canadian SMOs and their contribution in Canada and abroad.

The Spur Change national conference is a signature event to bring together Canadian small and medium organizations (SMOs), educators, and youth in the international cooperation sector.
To answer participants’ call for a space for deep, relationship-based exploration and peer knowledge sharing, this year, the 2023 annual conference was held as seven separate, smaller regional events. Each event, or “Spur Spark,” had its own main themes, programming and feel, but centered around the theme of People and Planet, in line with FIAP Action area 4: Environment and climate action.
